Tour Plan

Morning:

  • Arrival: Depending on your mode of transportation, you’ll either arrive by flight or drive from Nairobi. If flying, you’ll land at the Mara’s airstrip where you can arrange for a transfer to your lodge or camp.
  • Check-In: Settle into your accommodation. Many lodges and camps offer stunning views and are located in prime wildlife areas.

Afternoon:

  • Lunch: Enjoy a meal at your lodge or camp.
  • Game Drive: Head out for an afternoon game drive. The Maasai Mara is renowned for its abundant wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) as well as cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and more. The late afternoon is a good time to spot predators as they become more active.
  • Sundowner: Depending on the lodge, you might have the option to enjoy a sundowner (a drink while watching the sunset) in the bush.

Evening:

  • Dinner: Return to your lodge or camp for dinner. Many lodges offer a dining experience with views of the surrounding landscape.
  • Night Game Drive (Optional): Some lodges offer night game drives, which can be a unique way to see nocturnal wildlife.

Morning:

  • Early Morning Game Drive: Start early to catch the best wildlife activity. The morning is an excellent time to see predators on the hunt and to enjoy the crisp, fresh air of the Mara.
  • Breakfast in the Bush (Optional): Some safari operators offer the option to have breakfast in the bush, which can be a memorable experience.

Midday:

  • Return to Lodge: Head back to your lodge for brunch or a light meal.
  • Relaxation: Enjoy some downtime at the lodge. Many lodges have pools or relaxation areas where you can unwind and soak in the surroundings.

Afternoon:

  • Final Game Drive or Cultural Experience: Depending on your interests, you could go on another short game drive or visit a local Maasai village to learn about their culture and traditions.
  • Check-Out: Prepare for departure. Ensure you have all your belongings and any final payments settled.

Evening:

  • Departure: Transfer back to the airstrip or start your drive back to Nairobi.
